Discussion 10: Tourism
No. 4 Is tourism good or bad for the planet? Explain.

To my mind, it is good. Of course we will influence both way meanings, good effect and bad effect. Especially, based on nature and environments. It is clear when we see while focusing on relationship between of Mt. Fuji and tourism. Tourists will improve region economics but they will though garbage away on Mt. Fuji's ground. However, we also can find and get new idea and solutions. For instance, if tourist visit to Mt. Fuji who are interested in nature and environment, that person may will start new project somewhere else based on his or her under the inspirations of that experiences. It means, that person can import that to their country and also other countries. Thus, each of countries will inspire each other in a good way.

Disucussion 7:Fasion & Careers
Question 6. What jobs are you interested in? What steps can you take to get this job (see p.66 for some ideas)? Why are you interested in the job? What do you think the job will be like?

I have three intesests, NPO, entrepreneur and media. In addition, I'm also interested in " grassroots movement" As for these interests, I have three reasons. First, I would like to solve global issues. Second, I would like to increase grassroots movement and hopefully, I want to support to increase various grassroots movements. Lastly, I would like to introduce other grassroot movements with other similar movements. As for the last reason, I believe that they can create new grassroots movements with the others together.

Discussion 6: Think positive
Q4. Universal design and barrier free are terms we often hear now. What are some example?
(I'm sorry to be late publishing...)

I've heard "universal design udon noodles" in Japan. This noodles made by disabled person and his mother. He and his mother noticed noodles is not universal food when they eat noodles so they started to make universal design udon noodles. Their idea is so unique. They punched a lot of hole a udon noodle so if disabled people use chopsticks when they eat udon noodles, they can eat it by themself more easilly.

Discussion 5 : Happiness

3. Bhutan started a Gross National Happiness Index. Now, there is a United Nations World Happiness Index. In 2012, Denmark was top, Canada 5th, New Zealand 8th, US 11th, UK 18th, Japan 44th, and Togo was last. Why do you think Japan is so low in spite of being a rich country?


To my mind, Japanese worker always busy cause of few employment of inflation so they have to work hard and they have to do over twice work. I guess this is the one of the mainreason why Japanese people don't feel happy. I believe if they have more free time, they have time which they feel happy.

Discussion 4: Family Matters
3.Which family system do you think is better-the"extended family" or "nuclear family" system?

Textbook says extended family system is really good for help eachother family member for example, if grandparents got sick, their children can help them as soon as possible. And I agree as this textbook but I have other reason. Before I read this textbook story, I heard one Japanese girl and her family story. She is living together her grand parents and she grew up so kind girl because she learns everyday think about her grandparents. If children have opportunity to live together with their grandparents, it's very good opportunity, I believe.

Discussion 3:Love around the World5. In the West, many couples live together before marriage. Some never even get married, but continue to live together and have children. Is marriage necessary/important?

To my mind marriage is not necessary and not important. If my grand mothers know my opinion, they'll get angry but it's different to nowadays and past time. Recentry, people can choose their life style and also marriage is including life style so people can decide to get marry or not as a part of life style. Of course I don't get marry yet so I don't know well about marriage but I can say that each person have their own identity so if I decide never even get married, I can say it's my life style or my identity. And now,it's not difficult living together even couples didn't get marry but if I'll say one disadvantage, it's not so good for their children.

Discussion 2 : Aleternative Education
5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of studying at school where students make the rules?


Advantages : Students can know how to say their opinion when they make the rules and at the same time, they can learn listening other people's opinion.

Disadvantages : If teachers didn't say any advices, sometimes students make wrong rules.

I would like to support studying at school where students make the rules because it makes children's independence. So teachers should trust their students and rely to make original rules but if students want some help or advice, theachers have to give only necessary help or advice. It's good for children to think their own mind.

Education & Studying Abroad
(No.7)  90% of Japanese university students get a degree. Only 54% of students in the USA get a degree. Why do you think this is the case?

(In my opinion)
I support the USA.
University is not "school" so university students should start to work for their future and i think this mean is that university students can make their future by themself more freely than high school students or junior high school students.But most of all Japanese university students don't want to do that.They would like to get a degree easily to make their future and Japanese university well known that and they will give credits university students easily. Unfortunately, even my last junior college friends opinions and professors general opinions were so. 90% number shows us Japanese university and students have to chage.
